Does Adobe Audition run on Linux?

Verdict: No

No. Adobe lists Audition for Windows and macOS only, with no Linux version and no browser version. Audacity is the free replacement for editing and cleaning up audio, and REAPER is the paid one.

Adobe Audition by Adobe · Music & audio · No way to run it

Adobe offers Audition for macOS and Windows and says so plainly on its own download page. Linux is not there, and unlike Word or Figma there is nothing to log into in a browser instead.

For most Audition users the work is podcast editing, voiceover cleanup and tidying up recordings. Audacity covers that, it is free, and it installs from your Linux system's app store. It has noise reduction, it removes clicks and hum, and it edits multiple tracks. What it does not match is Audition's spectral view, where you paint out a cough or a siren by looking at a picture of the sound. Nothing free on Linux does that as well.

If you do this for a living, REAPER is the better answer. It is paid, it has an official Linux version from its maker, and its multitrack editing and mixing are stronger than Audacity's.

Your files come with you. WAV, MP3 and AIFF recordings open anywhere. Audition session files do not open in Audacity or REAPER, so export each session as audio, ideally one file per track, before you leave Windows. If you pay for Audition through Creative Cloud, cancel it once your work is exported.

This doesn't have to stop you

One stubborn program doesn't have to decide the whole question. You can keep Windows on the same PC and restart into it only when you need Adobe Audition. Everything else you do can move.
