Does Adobe Premiere Rush run on Linux?

Verdict: No

No. Premiere Rush never had a Linux version, and Adobe has retired it entirely. It stopped being sold or downloadable on 30 September 2025 and support ends a year later.

Adobe Premiere Rush by Adobe · Video · No way to run it

Adobe's own discontinuation notice says Premiere Rush is no longer available from Adobe.com or the mobile app stores as of 30 September 2025, that subscription renewals stopped on the same date, and that technical support ends on 30 September 2026. There was never a Linux build, so this is a question with no version of yes in it.

Adobe points existing users at the new Premiere apps on desktop and iPhone. Those are Windows, macOS and iOS only, so they do not help a Linux switcher either.

The good news is that Rush was a simple editor, and simple editors are the thing Linux does best. Kdenlive and Shotcut are both free, both install from the app store, and both cover cutting clips together, titles, transitions, music and export to a social video size. Either will feel bigger than Rush at first because they show you more tracks and more buttons.

Your projects will not open. Rush kept projects in its own format and no Linux program reads it. Export finished videos as MP4 files while the app still runs, and copy the original clips across, because those are ordinary video files that open anywhere.

What to use instead of Adobe Premiere Rush

Kdenlive

Close matchFree

Free video editor with a proper timeline, titles, transitions and social export sizes. More buttons than Rush but the same jobs.

Your files: Cannot open Rush projects. Imports the original MP4 and MOV clips directly.

Shotcut

Close matchFree

Free and a little simpler to start with than Kdenlive. Good for quick cuts and captions.

Your files: No Rush project support. Handles the common video and audio formats.

DaVinci Resolve

Different way of workingFree with paid extras

Free version available for Linux and far more capable, but heavier and it wants a decent graphics card.

Your files: No Rush project support. Imports standard video files, though some MP4 audio needs converting first.

This doesn't have to stop you

One stubborn program doesn't have to decide the whole question. You can keep Windows on the same PC and restart into it only when you need Adobe Premiere Rush. Everything else you do can move.
