Partly. The CapCut program does not run on Linux, but CapCut Online is a browser version that does. For anything heavier, Kdenlive and Shotcut are free installed editors.
CapCut by ByteDance · Video · Works in a browser
CapCut Desktop is listed for Windows and macOS only. There is no Linux download, so the program you use now will
not install.
ByteDance does run CapCut Online, a video editor that works in a browser. That is the route on Linux. Sign in with
the same account and you get the templates, the auto captions and the text effects that people mostly use CapCut
for. Being in a browser, it leans on your internet connection and it is slower with long or high-resolution
footage.
If you edit anything substantial, install a real editor instead. Kdenlive and Shotcut are both free, both work
offline, and both handle long timelines far better than a browser tab. Neither has CapCut's template and effect
library, so short social clips take more manual work.
Your finished videos are ordinary MP4 files and open anywhere. Projects are another matter. CapCut drafts do not
transfer to Kdenlive or Shotcut, so export anything unfinished as a video before you switch.
Free installed editor with a proper timeline, transitions, titles and effects. More capable than CapCut and less automatic, so short social edits take longer.
Your files: Cannot open CapCut drafts. Imports MP4, MOV and most common video files.
