Does FreshBooks run on Linux?

Verdict: Yes

Yes, through your browser. FreshBooks says it works in any web browser on all your devices, and that includes Firefox and Chrome on Linux. There is no desktop app on any system.

FreshBooks by FreshBooks · Business & accounting · Works in a browser

FreshBooks is cloud accounting software and its own site states that it works in any web browser on desktop, laptop, tablet or phone. There is no Windows program to replace, so a switch to Linux changes nothing about how you use it.

The extra apps FreshBooks publishes are for iPhone and Android, covering invoices, expenses and mileage while you are out. Those stay available whatever your computer runs.

Because your books live on FreshBooks servers, there is nothing to export or convert before you wipe Windows. The only sensible precaution is the usual one with money software. Sign in from the Linux machine once while you still have both computers, and make sure you can receive your sign-in codes afterwards.

If the subscription is what you want to leave behind rather than Windows, GnuCash gives you full accounts on your own computer at no cost, though you will do more of the thinking yourself.
