Does GeForce NOW run on Linux?

Verdict: Yes

Yes. NVIDIA list Linux on their own download page, with an installer file and a Flatpak from NVIDIA's repository, plus a separate install for the Steam Deck.

GeForce NOW by NVIDIA · Gaming · Has a Linux version

GeForce NOW is one of the happier surprises for a Linux switcher. NVIDIA offer a Linux app on the same download page as the Windows and Mac ones, as a file you make runnable and start, or as a Flatpak from NVIDIA's own repository. There is also a Steam Deck install that puts it in the Steam library so it appears in gaming mode.

You can also just open it in a supported browser without installing anything, which is worth trying first to see how it feels on your connection.

Because the game runs on NVIDIA's machines rather than yours, your own graphics card stops mattering. That turns an older laptop into something that plays current games, as long as your internet is fast and steady.

Your account and library carry over as they are. GeForce NOW plays games you already own on Steam, Epic and other stores rather than selling them, so nothing needs buying again. The limit is the catalogue: only games NVIDIA have added are playable, so check that your games are on the list.
