Does Malwarebytes run on Linux?

Verdict: No

No. Malwarebytes protects Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone, with no Linux version for home users. Linux desktops are not normally run with antivirus at all.

Malwarebytes by Malwarebytes · Security & passwords · No way to run it

Malwarebytes lists its consumer protection as covering PCs, Macs, Androids and iPhones. Linux is not on the list, and there is no home Linux product to buy.

The plain reason Linux desktops go without antivirus is that almost all the malware people meet is written for Windows, and it cannot run on Linux. On top of that, software comes from your system's app store rather than from download sites, which removes the main way infections arrive. Updates for everything on the machine arrive through the same place, so there is no out-of-date plugin sitting around waiting to be exploited.

None of that makes Linux untouchable. Phishing works on any operating system, a bad browser extension is a bad browser extension, and a dodgy website can still talk you into handing over a password. Those are the risks worth your attention, and no antivirus program fixes them.

There is one genuine use for a scanner. ClamAV detects Windows malware, so if you forward attachments to family on Windows or keep files on a drive that Windows machines read, scanning before you pass things on is a sensible courtesy.

ClamAV

Different way of workingFree

Not a Malwarebytes replacement. It is for checking files you are about to pass on to someone using Windows.

This doesn't have to stop you

One stubborn program doesn't have to decide the whole question. You can keep Windows on the same PC and restart into it only when you need Malwarebytes. Everything else you do can move.
