Does pCloud run on Linux?

Verdict: Yes

Yes. pCloud Drive has a Linux version, supplied as an AppImage file, which is a single downloaded file you make runnable and then open. Your files and licence carry over.

pCloud by pCloud AG · Cloud storage & backup · Has a Linux version

pCloud lists Linux alongside Windows, Mac, iOS and Android on its download page, and its own help article explains that the Linux version comes as an AppImage. An AppImage is one self contained file. You download it, tick a box in its properties to say it is allowed to run, then open it like any other program. There is no installer and no app store entry.

That is slightly more fiddly than Windows was, and it means updates are not automatic in the way they are for apps from the built in store. On the other hand, the app itself behaves the same. pCloud Drive appears as a drive in your file manager, files download as you open them rather than filling your disk, and your account and any lifetime plan work exactly as before.

Nothing needs migrating, since your files already sit in pCloud. Just check that everything finished uploading from the Windows machine before you wipe it, particularly anything in a folder you had set to sync rather than store only in the cloud.

If you used pCloud Crypto, keep your crypto pass safe. pCloud cannot recover it for you.
