No. Autodesk's system requirements for Revit 2026 list 64-bit Windows only, and there is no Linux version and no browser version of Revit.
Revit by Autodesk · Design, CAD & 3D · No way to run it
Autodesk's requirements page for Revit 2026 lists 64-bit Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or
Windows 11. The only note about Apple computers is that you should run Parallels Desktop, which is
a way of running Windows on a Mac rather than a Mac version of Revit. Linux does not appear at all.
This is not a gap that a compatibility layer closes, and Revit is not software to gamble on with
live project work.
If Revit is your job, keep a Windows machine. Architecture and engineering practices run on shared
Revit models and .rvt files, and there is no way to take part in that from Linux. Dual booting, so
the computer asks which system to start, is the usual arrangement for people who want Linux for
everything else.
Your .rvt files stay where they are. No Linux program opens one, and no free program reconstructs a
Revit model with its families, parameters and views intact. Before you change anything, export what
you need to IFC, which is the open building format, and to DWG or PDF for the drawing sheets you
have to keep. IFC carries geometry and some data, and it does not carry your ability to keep
working on the model in Revit's way.
FreeCAD has a BIM workbench that reads IFC and can model buildings. It is free and it is
improving, and it is a long way behind Revit on documentation, scheduling and collaboration. Treat
it as a way to view and adjust a building model, not as a replacement for a practice.
Its BIM workbench models buildings and reads IFC. Suitable for personal or small-scale work, not for running a practice or joining a shared Revit project.
Your files: Cannot open .rvt. Imports IFC and DXF, with geometry and some data surviving and Revit families and views not.
Only useful for the 2D side. If what you really need is to keep editing floor plans and details, this drafts them for free.
Your files: Works in DXF. Export your Revit sheets to DXF before you leave Windows.
This doesn't have to stop you
One stubborn program doesn't have to decide the whole question. You can keep Windows on the same PC and restart into it only when you need Revit. Everything else you do can move.
