Does TradingView Desktop run on Linux?
Verdict: Yes
Yes. TradingView lists Linux alongside Windows and Mac on its desktop app page, and the charts also run in any Linux browser, so nothing about your setup has to change.
TradingView is a website first, and the desktop app is that website in a window with a few extras such as multiple monitors and quicker alerts. The desktop page offers Windows, Mac and Linux downloads.
Everything you have is stored in your TradingView account rather than on the computer. Your charts, layouts, watchlists, drawings, indicators and alerts all follow you when you sign in on the new machine. There is nothing to export and no file to carry across.
The browser is the fallback if the app gives you trouble, and it is a genuine one. On Linux the site behaves the same in Firefox, Chrome or Edge as it did on Windows.
Two things are worth checking with your own broker rather than assuming. If you traded directly through a broker connected to TradingView, that connection is handled on TradingView's side and should carry over, but any separate program your broker gave you to install is a different question and may well be Windows only.
