Does WPS Office run on Linux?

Verdict: Yes

Yes. Kingsoft makes WPS Office for Linux itself and offers it as a .deb or .rpm installer file, with Writer, Spreadsheet, Presentation and PDF tools included.

WPS Office by Kingsoft · Office & documents · Has a Linux version

WPS Office is one of the few Windows office suites with a real Linux version made by the same company. Kingsoft publishes installer files for Ubuntu and Linux Mint style systems and for Red Hat style ones, and there is also a Flathub listing put together by the community for people who prefer their app store.

All four parts come across: Writer, Spreadsheet, Presentation and the PDF tools. The ribbon looks the same, so if you chose WPS on Windows because it felt like Microsoft Office, that is exactly what you get here too.

Your documents are unaffected. WPS works in the Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats as standard, and those files open the same on both sides.

Two things are worth knowing. The Linux release is updated less often than the Windows one, so it can sit a version behind. And a paid WPS plan covers your account rather than one machine, so it carries over, but check what is included before relying on any one feature.
