Does Deadlock run on Linux?
Verdict: Yes
Yes. Deadlock is a Windows game that runs on Linux through Proton, the tool built into Steam, and players on ProtonDB rate it Platinum, the top rating. Its anti-cheat (VAC) works on Linux.
Deadlock is made by Valve, the same company that makes Proton and the Linux based Steam Deck, and it uses Valve's own anti-cheat rather than a kernel level system bought in from elsewhere. Online matches are not walled off from Linux players.
The barrier here has nothing to do with Linux. Steam still says access is limited to friend invites from existing playtesters, so somebody has to let you in before the question of your operating system comes up at all. There is no release date, and the system requirements on the Steam page are still listed as to be decided, so nothing about it is settled yet.
Deadlock is an action game from Valve.
It is played online against other people.
