Does Bitwarden run on Linux?

Verdict: Yes

Yes. Bitwarden makes a Linux desktop app and publishes it on Flathub, and the browser extensions work the same as on Windows. Sign in and your whole vault is there.

Bitwarden by Bitwarden Inc. · Security & passwords · Has a Linux version

Bitwarden's download page lists native desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, so this is one of the easiest things on your list. There is a Flatpak on Flathub kept current by Bitwarden Inc., and the app looks and behaves the way it did on Windows.

Because your vault lives on Bitwarden's servers and is encrypted before it leaves your machine, there is nothing to export or import. You sign in with the same email and master password, approve the new device the usual way, and every login, note and card is already there.

The browser extensions matter more than the desktop app for most people, and those are unchanged. Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave and Vivaldi all run on Linux and all take the same Bitwarden extension.

One small difference worth knowing: unlocking the desktop app with a fingerprint reader or a system PIN is less consistently available on Linux than on Windows, so you may be typing your master password more often. Everything else behaves identically.
