Does CCleaner run on Linux?

Verdict: No

No. CCleaner is sold for Windows, Mac and Android with no Linux version, and most of what it cleans does not exist on Linux. BleachBit covers the part that does.

CCleaner by Gen Digital · Utilities · No way to run it

Piriform's download pages offer Windows, Mac and Android. There is no Linux build and no plan for one.

Half of CCleaner's job disappears when you switch. The registry cleaner has nothing to clean, because Linux has no registry. The startup manager and driver updater have no equivalent either. Linux systems do not slow down in the way Windows machines did, so the weekly clean-up ritual is one of the habits you can simply drop.

The part worth keeping is clearing browser caches, cookies and temporary files to free space. BleachBit does that and looks and works much like CCleaner, with a list of tick boxes and a preview before it deletes anything. Be careful with it. The tick boxes go deeper than CCleaner's do, and ticking everything can remove things you wanted.

If your real problem was a full drive, a duplicate-file finder often helps more than a cleaner. Your Linux system also has a disk usage viewer built in that shows which folders are eating the space.

Finds duplicate files, empty folders and similar photos. Usually frees more space than a cache cleaner does.

This doesn't have to stop you

One stubborn program doesn't have to decide the whole question. You can keep Windows on the same PC and restart into it only when you need CCleaner. Everything else you do can move.
