Does Nitro PDF Pro run on Linux?
Verdict: No
No. Nitro sells its PDF software for Windows, Mac and iOS only, with no Linux version. Master PDF Editor is the Linux program that does the same editing job, and it is also paid.
Nitro says its PDF plans are available for Windows, Mac and iOS, and that the Classic product is built for the Windows desktop. Nothing is offered for Linux.
What Nitro gives you on Windows is a cheaper Acrobat: editing the text inside a PDF, filling and making forms, combining files, and signing. On Linux that work splits in two. Reading, highlighting and commenting are free and well covered by Okular and Evince. Editing the actual content of a finished PDF is the harder half, and Master PDF Editor is the program that does it. It is a paid program and the trial stamps a watermark on anything you save.
Converting a PDF back into an editable document is another route. LibreOffice Draw opens a PDF and lets you move and retype the pieces, which is clumsy for a long report but fine for a one page form or a flyer.
Your existing PDFs are unaffected. Any Nitro subscription is tied to Windows and Mac, so cancel it rather than expecting it to follow you.

Okular

LibreOffice Draw

Your files: Imports PDFs and exports them again. Layout of complex documents can shift.
This doesn't have to stop you
One stubborn program doesn't have to decide the whole question. You can keep Windows on the same PC and restart into it only when you need Nitro PDF Pro. Everything else you do can move.
